5 Major Elements Of Success People Seldom Mention!

You might be expecting me to write something basic about patience, integrity, humility, honesty, discipline, and other qualities that might make up a successful person. If you’re looking for an article like that, you’ll find them everywhere. This article is different. It’s not meant to talk about one word or one quality of successful people in a generic sense and re-define what those things mean for you. This articles purpose is to help you re-define what your personal success is and how you define yourself.
There are elements of success people seldom mention, and sometimes those things have nothing to do with the present or the individual. Below, feel free to read about those five elements.

1. Your job isn't your success!

You are your success, and what you’re successful in will vary. It doesn't have to be your job. It could be your family, it could be your volunteer work, or your community service.  Success is multi-faceted.  In addition, your job may not be a direct reflection of you, your greatest strengths, or the best use of your time. Your job might not enable you to contribute to the world in a way you would like, yet so many people define themselves by their jobs, or their next big promotion. Success is a lifestyle and an attitude.

2. Failure is going to happen to you. Just because you fail at something, doesn't mean you are a failure!

Failing, I thought, would be unacceptable and earth-shattering. I thought I’d be too embarrassed to ever be able to discuss it, and yet here I am. Do you know what I learned? I learned it wasn't the end of the world. I learned what I wasn't good at. I learned where I was weak and I used those insights to make myself stronger and better educated about myself.
Failure is nothing more than useful feedback. You don’t have to be the best at everything to be the best at something. Sometimes we learn from the things we do poorly or the things we fail to do moreso than the things we excel in.

3. People will always see your successes. They may never know about your sacrifices!

There will always be people who think you had it easy. There were always be people who identify with you and think you had it rough. They are both wrong, and the answer is usually somewhere in the middle and defined by the individual. The truth of the matter is, no one else is going to really know how much you had to give up or overcome to get to where you are. It’s easy to think being successful is easy when the version of you people are seeing is the person who made it through the storm.
When push comes to shove, their opinions don’t matter. What matters is what you think and feel about yourself. When you feel good about yourself and your own unique purpose in life, everything falls into place.

4. There are people who aren’t going to think you’re successful, no matter what you think of yourself or how you feel!

Ignore people like this. They are usually miserable themselves. There will always be people who like to gossip or speak poorly of someone else trying to get by and follow their dreams. People will tell you your goals are stupid, your dreams are unrealistic, and the money won’t follow. Sometimes they are right, and sometimes they are wrong. The only thing that matters is that you don’t base your final choices off of them.

5. Sometimes it’s about who you know!

In some respects, certain types of success have to do more with who you know as opposed to how hard you work, hustle, or study. Many people will tell you so long as you work hard, anything is possible, and while anything being possible is true, it isn't always probable. Sometimes people have a better time, or easier time because they have good mentors or they knew the right people or joined the right clubs or had the right connections. Sometimes success is a collaborative effort, not just something we become on our own.

10 Morning Habits Of Happy People!

Are you a morning person or a night owl? Morning people are generally happier than night owls, according to a study. Night owls tend to become morning people as they age. Whichever one you are, it is fascinating to look at the morning habits of happy people because you can be inspired by them. You can also reject what does not suit you at all, of course.
Here are 10 morning habits of happy and successful people. Choose the ones which appeal to you and fit your lifestyle.

1. They wake up feeling grateful!

As they wake up, they always feel grateful for being alive, for the gift of life and for the joy of a new day. When things are bad, make a list in your mind of all the positives.
Research shows clearly that people who regularly express gratitude are less likely to suffer from loneliness, anxiety, depression or envy.

2. They never skimp on breakfast!

They know that this is the most important meal of the day. It provides you with all the essential nutrients, minerals and energy you are going to need for the day. Planning a good breakfast the night before is also a good idea. You will be able to get some of the things ready so you can save time when you are under pressure during your morning schedule.

3. They never forget the spiritual connection!

“The morning wind spreads its fresh smell. We must get up and take that in, that wind that lets us live. Breathe, before it’s gone.” – Sufi, 13th century poet
As they wake up, they dedicate some time to mindfulness, prayer, meditation, yoga, or offerings to Buddha. These are all valuable ways of connecting to the present reality and savoring these precious moments before going on auto-pilot.

4. They get exercise before they start work!

“I ride my bike to work because it creates a stress-free time. I get my best ideas on my bike” – Tania Burke, President of Trek Travel
Some people prefer to walk the dog early in the morning or cycle to work, if that is feasible. Other people, like President Obama, start their daily workout at 6.45.a.m. One study reveals how much more beneficial pre- breakfast exercise can be although it might not suit everybody.

5. They plan their good deeds!

“The morning question, what good shall I do this day?” – Benjamin Franklin
It should come as no surprise to learn that when happy people help others it increases their happiness, rather then being a burden. Studies published in the Journal of Happiness Studies illustrate this clearly. Other studies show that these happier and kinder people will live much longer.
“Money doesn't make people happy. People make people happy.” – Steve Wynn

6. They rarely ruminate about the past!

Happy people have one thing in common. They very rarely express regrets about the past. They know that life is for living now and that to-day is the main event. They never let it be hijacked by the past or yesterday’s failures.

7. They make happiness a habit!

Did you know that as much as 40% of your daily activities is sheer habit or routine? You are on auto-pilot half the time. Happy people make gratitude, joy and mindfulness a part of that habit and it always works for them, espeacially in the morning..

8. They reject the morning distractions!

Happy people know that they do not want those distractions form news, emails and text messages muscling in too early. They will damage their early morning serenity in getting their gratitude and mindfulness act together. This is what is important. Those messages can wait till much later. This also helps them to approach all the deadlines, meetings and tasks with much more serenity.

9. They have set their daily goals!

Happy people know what when they do start work, they should try and get the most difficult task done first. It is just part of a list of objectives but they have always clear goals and have prioritized what they want to get done. It increases their happiness.
Richard Davidson, a neuroscientist at the University of Wisconsin has researched all this. He found that when you see progress towards achieving a difficult task or goal, this increases happiness and also suppresses all the negative emotion.

10. They have taken out a happiness subscription!

When you meet happy people, they give you the impression that they have opted in for a happiness subscription. They are not waiting around or hoping vaguely for random happy events to knock on their door. They are making happiness and spreading it around. That is why they always stand out in the crowd!
“The happy people are failures because they are on such good terms with themselves they don’t give a damn.” – Agatha Christie

Hot Water Bath Vs. Cold Water Bath!

Although there are many individual benefits of hot and cold water, deciding which is the best for you depends upon your body type. As per Ayurveda, hot water should be used for cleaning the body and cold water for the head as hot water is harmful for the eyes and hair.It also depends upon the temperature of one’s body.A person with excessive heat in the body should bathe with water at temperatures lower than their body’s and vice versa.

Also, hot or cold water bathing can be therapeutic with different types being used for treating patients with various diseases. Patients with liver disease, indigestion etc, should bathe with cold water whereas, patients suffering from diseases such as respiratory disorders, cold, cough, joint pain, arthritis etc should opt for hot water.

Here are benefits of both hot and cold water baths for you to decide better:

Benefits of a hot water bath:
  1. Hot water baths are excellent to cleanse your body as the warmer temperatures tend to kill all the germs that you are exposed to throughout the day. It is also helpful in maintaining better personal hygiene.
  2. They are extremely beneficial to relieve cold and cough as the hot water and steam tends to clear your airways and help in decongesting your nose and throats.
  3. They are also known to beat insomnia and sleep disorders and are excellent to induce sleep.

Benefits of a cold water bath:
  1. Cold water showers give you a push start in the morning. They tend to stimulate your nerve endings and help getting rid of the laziness and sleepiness.

You tend to hold your breath with each mug of water and slowly release your breath ,thus improving your lung function.
How to  bathe healthy?

Ayurveda says, a hurried bath is like hurried food, the body does not reap all the benefits of a good cleanse if you rush bathing. A good bathing experience helps you gain freshness and improves.
To experience a complete bath, you should take the process slowly, exposing each body part to water progressively. The hands and feet should be washed first and if it is cold water bath, the approach should be from the head to the toe and if it is a hot water bath, you should begin with washing your toes first and then progress towards your head.

Ideally, soaps available in the market should be avoided and organic products must be used, as the skin absorbs all the chemicals when it is exposed to soaps and detergents. It is also recommended that a good oil massage with mustard, sesame or olive oil before or after bathing, has tremendous health benefits as it improves your skin textures and revitalizes your muscles and nervous system. Bathing for too long should be avoided while bathing only twice a day is enough for better hygiene.

What to do if you make a big Mistake at Work?

As they say, everyone makes mistakes. In many situations, you can correct your error or just forget about it and move on. Making a mistake at work, however, can be more serious. It can have a dire effect on your employer. It may, for example, endanger a relationship with a client, cause a legal problem or put people's health or safety at risk. Repercussions will ultimately trickle down to you. Simply correcting your mistake and moving on may not be an option. When you make a mistake at work your career may depend on what you do next.

1. Admit Your Mistake: As soon as you discover that something went awry, immediately tell your boss. The only exception is, of course, if you make an insignificant error that will not affect anyone or if you can fix it before it does. Otherwise, don't try to hide your mistake. Doing that will make you look a lot worse if someone else discovers it and you could be accused of a coverup. Being upfront about it will demonstrate professionalism, a trait most employers greatly value.
2. Present Your Boss With a Plan to Correct the Error: There is one thing you should try to do before going to your boss—come up with a solution to rectify your mistake (along with a few alternatives for her to consider). If you can't come up with something quickly, go to your boss anyway, but reassure him that you are working on some solutions. Once you know what needs to happen, present your plan clearly. Tell your boss how long it will take to implement it and if there are any costs involved. Be ready to also present your alternative solutions just in case she shoots down the first one. Problem solving is an important soft skill.
3. Don't Blame Anyone Else: You may have collaborated with other employees on the project in question and, on some, level, each member of that team is responsible for its successes and failures. Ideally, everyone should approach your boss together to alert him to the mistake and take ownership of it. Unfortunately, that might not happen. There are going to be some people who say "not my fault." It won't help you to point fingers at others, even if they do share responsibility for the mistake. In the end, each person will be held accountable for his or her own actions.
4. Apologize But Don't Beat Yourself Up: There's a big difference between admitting your mistake and beating yourself up about it. Take responsibility but don't berate yourself for making it, especially in public. If you keep calling attention to your error, that is what will stick in people's minds. You want your boss to focus on your actions after you made the mistake, not on the fact that it happened in the first place.
5. If Possible, Correct the Mistake on Your Own Time and by yourself: Correct the Mistake on your own time as much as you can and try to fix the mistake by yourself. But, if the situation goes out of your hand and knowledge, immediately seek for help and don't allow the situation to get worse.

How to Focus on Studying During Exams!

Studying for any exam and test can be difficult and stressful. In fact, many people find it hard to focus on the task they're trying to accomplish. However, there are some short, simple things to do that can really help you focus when studying.

1) Find a suitable environment to study: Your bedroom or classroom isn't always the best possible place. Find a nice, quiet place with a large, comfortable chair, like your sitting room, preferably without a television, a computer or a cell phone within your reach.
  • The library is usually a nice place to study because it's quiet.

2) Collect all materials before you begin studying:  Do not plan to look for pens, highlighters, rulers, etc, in the middle of studying. It can be really distracting at times, so prepare everything you think you need.

3) Colletct suitable revision snacks: No energy drinks or coffee, because sooner or later, you will crash out. Nut chocolate bars, fruit, and water are good, because they are simple and effective at releasing carbohydrates.

4) Take Short Breaks: After 45 minutes of studying, take a 10 minute break and do something different. Try to get back to your studying after the break; the break shouldn't be longer than 20 minutes.
  • Plan your breaks out with alarms. If your breaks are planned, you're less likely to miss them in the first place, and more importantly, less likely to "accidentally" take more time than is needed.
  • Why take breaks? Your brain needs time to recharge after it processes a bunch of information. In some studies, taking a break and walking around improved memory recall and simple test scores in subjects.

 5) Get Motivated: If you do your revision well and prepare for the exam, you will do fine. Get to a point with your revision so you can enjoy the exam when it happens. Do not think that the exam is a big deal, think of it as something to challenge your learning!
  • Set a goal for yourself, even if it's a bit unrealistic. Push yourself to do better than what you think you can do, and who knows, maybe you'll surprise yourself.
  • Motivate yourself with a reward. This takes a bit of self-control, so ask someone in a position of authority to help you out if you need help. Give yourself a reward if you study well, feel prepared, and do well on the test.
  • Tell yourself why studying is important. This is different for each person. Whatever it is, remind yourself of why you're working hard and tell yourself it's worth it.

6) Sit down and study: You have everything you need in front of you and there's nothing left to procrastinate with. It's just you and the material. Well? What are you waiting for?
  • Use flash cards and notes to your advantage. Flash cards are helpful for some people, as they contain important information in very little space. Use them if you feel they are helpful for you. Lay them out sequentially, or order them according to a different scheme if you want to give them a little more meaning.
  • Make use of mnemonic tools. "Mnemonic tools" is a fancy word for memorization. Make some information into a funny song, or put the information into an acronym (remember VIBGYOR?) to help you remember what you're trying to remember.
  • Make sure you know the most important information first, and then move onto the rest. Study and understand key concepts before you branch out. This will give you a basic level of understanding to build on.

Here are some things you need to avoid:

1) Don't panic: When you panic, you make mistakes, so keep calm throughout. If you successfully planned your revision, you will have no need to panic when the exam comes. Take a deep breath, tell yourself "I can do this," and cool down.

2) Minimize computer use: Especially the internet. You learn better when you write things out yourself. Also refrain from using your cell phone as you will be replying to texts every minute, which is very distracting.
  • Turn your internet off if you know you'll be tempted. Turn your computer off or ask your friend to hold onto it. Basically, try to ensure that you're not whiling away your time on the Internet when you're supposed to be studying.

3) Don't listen to music unless it helps you study: Some people need music in order to help them study, but try not to give your brain anything else to focus on while you're studying. One more distraction, even if it's calming music, is another thing your brain has to process in addition to the information you're trying to learn.

4) Don't stray off-topic: We all catch ourselves going off-topic from time to time. Sometimes it's because the information we're supposed to learn is boring; sometimes it's because the information we don't need to know is exciting. Whatever it is, wait until after you've studied to really dig deeper and explore different subjects.
  • Always ask yourself: How likely is it that this information will show up on my test? If you're really focused, you can rank the information from the most likely to the least likely, giving the most likely material the majority of your time and the least likely the rest of it.

5) Don't get discouraged: Studying for a test can be daunting, especially in the beginning. Take things in manageable chunks and don't worry about getting things perfect the first time around. Remember, you're here to learn, not necessarily to top a test. Try to understand the "big picture" if you're having trouble understanding the concept. This should make the details easier to understand.

Expert Tips:

  • Studying in a closed room boosts your productivity and eases any distractions.
  • Don't think negative.
  • Do not worry too much. If you're feeling panicky while studying, take a deep breath, read the notes and try to process & understand the information.
  • Sleep well and have your day scheduled. Knowing that you have can have a break after an hour, or maybe two hours can motivate yourself to work hard. Working hard makes the time seem to go faster.
  • Always study at a quiet room.
  • Have healthy brain foods to help you focus.
  • Never wallow in panic! Instead, focus on the step in front of you, and complete that task. And then go on to the next step. Think positively, and be determined to score a good grade.
  • Set yourself a timetable for your studies and time slots for each subject (e.g. math @ 6:30; English @ 7:30; etc.)
  • Make notes. Read a paragraph and either blindly or understand and write down the essential stuff in that para. This will help you to boost memory
  • Don't think about friends or compare yourself with others. Instead of this think that study is a fantasy and study with your imagination or with curiosity.
Attention:

  • Don't leave your revision to the last minute. Plan in advance. Just remember, the earlier you start, the less stress you will feel. Revise your work bit by bit.

Simple Home Remedies for Acute Sinusitis!

Acute sinusitis, also known as acute rhinosinusitis, is a short-term infection or inflammation of the cavities around your nasal passages (sinuses). This inflammation and swelling obstruct the sinus openings, interfering with normal mucus drainage and causing mucus to build up. This makes it hard to breathe through the nose.
According to the American Academy of Otolaryngology, acute sinusitis is common, affecting more than 37 million Americans each year. The cause of acute sinusitis can be a viral, bacterial or fungal infection and it can last for a few days up to four weeks.
Some people are at a higher risk of suffering from acute sinusitis. Risk factors include allergies like hay fever, a nasal passage abnormality, cystic fibrosis, tooth infection, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a weak immune system and regular exposure to pollutants like cigarette smoke.

Symptoms include nasal congestion, thick mucus discharge from the nose or down the back of the throat, sore throat, cough (which may be worse at night), headache, earache, fever, fatigue, bad breath, and pain and tenderness behind the eyes, nose, cheeks or forehead. It can also lead to reduced sense of smell and taste.
Most cases of acute sinusitis resolve on their own without medicine. However, some home remedies can help relieve your discomfort and promote healing.

For example, experts recommend that people with high blood pressure eat a balanced and nutritious dietrestrict sodium intakelimit alcohol intakecut back on caffeineexercise regularlywatch their waistline and reduce stress in their life.

Eating foods rich in vitamin C and potassium are particularly beneficial. Several studies have found that these nutrients help lower blood pressure.
The antioxidant vitamin C helps neutralize free radicals and relax the blood vessel walls. It works as a diuretic to remove excess sodium and water from the body. Potassium also helps reduce blood pressure, especially systolic blood pressure as it increases the excretion of sodium.
So, for a healthy dose of vitamin C, we have included fresh strawberries and kiwi in this smoothie. Strawberries also contain potassium. Plus, bananas are a good source of potassium. We have also added ground flaxseed for its fiber content.
Dairy products add to the health benefits of this smoothie. In fact, a 2013 study published in the journal Nutrition Reviews found that people who consumed at least three servings of dairy products a day had low blood pressure and a lower risk of heart disease. This recipe includes skim milk and low-fat yogurt.
You can also add garden cress to enhance the smoothie’s flavor. Plus, this herb is rich in vitamins A, C and K, and offers cardiovascular benefits.
